Hello! ...and welcome to the EIU Christian Campus House site dedicated to sharing our experiences in Haiti. Our students participate annually in a trip to Haiti to assist, visit, worship with, and learn from the communities we stay in. Our group gets to experience a small glimpse into life among our neighbors in the Caribbean.
For the past couple decades, we've visited many ministries. This has included Sonlight Academy, a Christian K-12 school in Port-de-Paix; Wings of Hope (2004) in Fermathe, a home for children with physical and mental disabilities; House of Hope (2010) in Port-au-Prince, an orphanage for girls; Haiti Outreach Ministries (2012) in Port-au-Prince, rebuilding homes after the January 2010 earthquake; and Haitian Christian Outreach (2013) in Peredo, a Christian-based community development organization. This year we'll head back to Cercady, Haiti, with The 410 Bridge. It has always been a blessing to see what the Lord is doing among and through the people in Haiti to tackle both spiritual and material poverty while building upon the assets of the Haitian people. We look forward to embarking on our journey in March 2016. |
